Before and After School Enrichment
What is B.A.S.E.?
B.A.S.E. is a before and after school enrichment program that offers all children who attend a safe, inviting, and engaging atmosphere for children as young as pre-school through sixth grade. B.A.S.E. is offered at all elementary schools within the district desiring a before and/or after school enrichment program. All children are invited to do crafts, participate in games (gym and outside), play board games with friends, read books from our B.A.S.E. library, free time in the gym as well as outside and the opportunity to develop social skills by engaging in activities with friends! Each site serves breakfast in the morning and a snack in the afternoon. All sites, depending on the number of enrollments, have at least two site leaders that supervise the children at all times. Your child’s safety is our number one concern! Each site is equipped with a cell phone and emergency contact information in case of an emergency.
B.A.S.E. operates from 6:30am-to the start of school and then from the end of the day bell-to 6:00pm. B.A.S.E. is open at 6:30am on two-hour delay days and also operates all day at one specific school location on snow days. We operate all day at one specific school site over all school breaks and special holidays such as Martin Luther King Day and Christmas Break.
Each afternoon we have homework time. During this time we offer a special kindergarten area where all kindergarten children go while the older children are completing their homework. In the kindergarten area, each child can read, color, draw, write, play a quiet game or complete a simple craft. Each site offers kindergarteners a wide range of activities so your child will never be bored!
B.A.S.E. offers afternoon enrichment time for all children. Enrichment time is a designated time of at least 15 minutes where site leaders organize specific activities that are age appropriate for all children. Enrichment activities range from playing organized games in the gym or outdoors to exploring each child’s creative side by painting a picture. Each day brings a new enrichment activity!
